2 Points Tonight

Howdy people, as the title of this post states I have 2 points to make tonight. One, Video Games Live was FRIGGIN EPIC!!!. The music was excellent and the videos on screen were perfect. The only downer was that Square wouldn't let their game footage be shown for some odd reason, but it's ok for gamer's such as myself cause you can just see it in your head anyway. As Brandy mentioned in her last post our loitering awesomeness got us a personal handshaking with Tommy Tallarico, Jack Wall and Lee Ann Leung. Final review of Video Games Live, 20 out of 10. Now on to the next point. Oh uh before you read on let me warn you that this next part will be a bit offensive..........ehem....................FUCK YOU EAST CONFERENCE NHL PRICKS ESPECIALLY YOU OTTAWA AND MONTREAL YOU ASS PIRATES. For anyone that doesn't know yet that comment is in reference to the vote held last night to determine whether the NHL schedule would be changed so that every team would get to play every other team at least once over the course of the season. They needed 20 votes to pass it. Final tally.........19........unbefrigginleavble. And to cap of this injustice, MONTREAL AND OTTAWA VOTED NO!!!!!!!!!. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! 2 Canadian teams voted against it and guess what that means....oh yes, no Hockey Day In Canada this year. Thanks to the vote failing, there is no way that the Canadian teams can play each other on the same day again. OH MY GOD!!!!. This just goes to show that the East Conference teams especially, care more about money and their own rich spoiled asses than they do about hockey. And finally to Montreal and Ottawa you not only betrayed hockey, you betrayed Canada. FUCK YOU!!! Peace out all

Are you kidding me???!!!! Is this happening? Did the East separate from Canada???!! How could Ottawa and Montreal do this to the rest of us? 'Cause I mean you can't blame the unfortunate US cities that by happenstance have hockey teams. NO, the blame lands squarely in the lap of these supposed "hockey cities." They have ruined Hockey Day in Canada and have dealt a serious blow to Hockey Night in Canada - we will not see Vancouver-Toronto or Edmonton-Montreal games next year.

Eleven of the money-grubbing league GMs let out an all-mighty whine and our hopes were dashed. All it took was one more vote and instead of stepping up, Ottawa/Montreal forsook their Canadian citizenship.

And WHAT is that bull about the West voting for it only for Crosby and Ovechkin? I mean, their great and I'd LOVE to see them play, but to cite it as the only reason we were in favour of a revised play schedule and the requirement to play each team at least once? I mean, logically, that one game could have been in Washington or Pittsburg! Get it right. As it stands, the West does far more travelling within their own Conference than the East. In its simplest form, this was a bid to increase equality.

SIDENOTE: as a Leafs fan, I must say I had complete confidence Ottawa would sell out. Second class hockey town, second class fans. Montreal fans have an even lower standing in my estimation and that feeling has now been transferred to their management. This has only been reinforced by my time in Edmonton. Edmonton fans know what hockey is; despite being a Leafs fan, I feel at home in this hockey town.

Little known fact: there's US soil in Canada; Ottawa and Montreal are actually in New York and Minnesota respectively.

Ok. My turn.
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced in the history of my NHL life. I knew that the eastern conference had it easy. I knew that players specifically went to play in the east. I knew players now were complaining about the proposed sked because of extended travel time. And I KNOW, Alex Ovechkin was one of them. He's good, he whines, don't get me started on individual players, I could talk forever. That's what my blog is for.

Plain and simple, true hockey cities and fans were let down by eleven eastern teams with nothing but revenue on the mind. Canada was let down by two of their own. But most of all, Gary Bettman let the league down. Had he truly wanted this to occur, had he pushed for it. Had he stepped up as commissioner, the leader of the league, and really pushed for better change in the NHL, it would have happened. Say what you will about him and his actions during the lockout, this means nothing now. What matters is, with the exception of 19 hockey loving cities, and millions of fans, the sport has been tainted by the almighty dollar. This was known to most before, but now it is a clear solidified fact, and there is more than enough recent evidence of this.
I'm a fan, I pay your salary, I watch the games, without me, your nothing, so get over yourself, vote yes, and get your rich high profiled ass on the plan, or I'll put it there for you.

That's too bad, because I would have cheered for Toronto vs Vancouver. Damn Canucks.

And a point about Eastern Canada: the United States has no need to annex a place which is agreeable to its influence without the responsibility of taking it over. Hockey is just another example of how we're being done in the bum.

And while you are at it, add Vancouver to the list of cities containing American soil.

What shall we name our new western hockey-loving country once we separate?
